Debra Osborne Spindle, PhD is a retired librarian from the Research Division of the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS). Formerly, she was manager of the Downtown Library in the Metropolitan Library System for Oklahoma County and served as an administrator for the University of Oklahoma’s School of Library and Information Studies as well as adjunct professor. She holds a PhD in communication and an MLIS (masters in library and information studies) from the University of Oklahoma. She has also taught at IGHR in the “The Five Civilized Tribes: The Records and Where to Find Them” course as well as lecturing multiple times at the Five Tribes Conference held annually in Oklahoma. Through the Research Division, she taught courses for Rose State College and the University of Central Oklahoma on family research.
