David K. Larsen holds a Ph.D. in American religious history from the University of Chicago and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.  He is Director of Access Services at the University of Chicago Library.  He began studying genetic genealogy under Karen Stanbary in 2015 and is an original member of the Chicago genetic genealogy interest group that was formed by alumni of her classes, for which he manages the email discussion group.  He is fascinated by the potential of DNA to solve historical mysteries.
