Charity C. Rouse, MLS, is the Director of Local History for the Spartanburg County Public Libraries in South Carolina where she has worked since 2014. Previously, Charity was on staff at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in Topeka, KS where she served on the genealogy and local history teams. She earned her Master of Library Science from Emporia State University in Kansas, a Master of Sacred Music from Boston University School of Theology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Richmond.

She is a member of the Delegate Council of the National Genealogical Society, the Pinckney District Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society, Spartanburg County Historical Association (former board member), History Committee of Trinity United Methodist Church (Spartanburg), National Society Daughters of the American Revolution – Massanutton Chapter, Virginia and Battle of Cowpens Chapter, South Carolina (Associate), Spartanburg Music Trail Committee, Spartanburg Kiwanis Club, and the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada.

In her free time she enjoys working on her family history, singing in the church choir, weaving, and collecting hymnals with over 450 unique titles in her collection.
