NextGen Scholarship (applications due by 15 March)—open to genealogists and family historians who are interested in improving their researching skills by attending a genealogy educational opportunity including the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research.
Once a year, the NextGen Genealogy Network will be awarding a $500 prize to use towards a genealogy educational opportunity. Interested individuals are asked to write a short essay on an event, conference, institute, or other learning opportunity they want to attend and how this will improve their genealogy skills. The winning applicant will also be asked to write a piece for the NextGen blog detailing the event they attended and how they plan to use the knowledge they have gained.
To apply for the NextGen Scholarship:

All entries must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 15 March.
Essays will be judged by the Scholarship panel and winner will be notified by email by 20 March.
The winner will be required to write a piece for the NextGen blog detailing the event they attended.
One Runner Up will receive a NextGen T-Shirt.

- Receipt or proof of purchase must be provided to the Scholarship panel before prize money is awarded.
- Former and current NextGen Leadership Team members are ineligible for this scholarship.
NextGen Genealogy Network builds connections and fosters engagement among young genealogists eighteen to fifty. They also strive to build connections between generations, and welcome the friendship, mentorship, and support of fellow genealogists of all ages.
