NextGen Scholarship (applications due mid-March in odd numbered years)—open to genealogists and family historians who are interested in improving their researching skills by attending a genealogy educational opportunity including the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research.

In odd numbered years, the NextGen Genealogy Network will be awarding a $500 prize to use towards a genealogy educational opportunity. Interested individuals are asked to write a short essay on an event or conference they want to attend and how this will improve their genealogy skills. The winning applicant will also be asked to write a piece for the NextGen blog detailing the event they attended and how they plan to use the knowledge they have gained.
