Registration Quick Guide

  • Join the Georgia Genealogical Society to gain the benefit of a GGS $50 discount code.

  • Have your information ready ahead of time: billing information, credit card, discount codes, etc.
  • You do not need a user account to register for IGHR 2024.
  • Review the list of IGHR’s thirteen courses.
  • Click on the green button for the course you are interested in.
  • On the course page click on the green Register Here button.
  • Prior to March 9, 2024, this button will take you to a page with a countdown clock. You can enter your email address to receive a message to remind you when registration opens.
  • Once registration starts at 9 a.m. Eastern on March 9, 2024, click on that green register button and the course registration window will open.
  • Make sure you are on the correct registration form for the course you are interested in.
  • Fill out the form as appropriate.
    • Enter the email address at which you would like to receive IGHR related information.
    • Be sure to supply the phone number you are most likely to have access to during the course.
    • Under certificate name supply your name as you would like to have it shown on your digital certificate of course completion.
  • Be sure to read the Tuition, Policies, and Deadlines and Terms and Conditions Then click the box to indicate you read them.
  • Click the radio button to choose your course and enter any discount code you might have.
    • Georgia Genealogical Society members enjoy a $50 discount.
    • Become a member of GGS first before registering for IGHR.
  • Enter your billing information, then the Submit button.
    • Payments can be made with a credit card or via check post-marked within 5 business days.
  • You will receive a confirmation email page and email. Print or save a copy for your records.
  • If a course is sold out, the course page will display with ‘Join Waitlist’ in the Course ‘XX’ Registration tuition section.
  • You can create a user account after registration to make updates to your registration later (e.g. a change to your email address or phone number).

Registration Policies

Discount Codes

Discount codes provided by IGHR to attendees are for the use of just one attendee. They cannot be combined with other discount codes. They cannot be used for more than one purchase.

Payment and Refund Deadlines

Prompt payment is expected for all purchases. Payments made by check must be postmarked by the fifth business day after your course registration or other purchase. Failure to send payment postmarked by the fifth business day for your course reservation will result in cancellation of your class seat. You will be contacted if your course registration was canceled due to nonpayment. If registration is open and a seat is available, you may register for the course again.

Cancellation Fee

The cancellation deadline to receive a refund for a course is 30 June 2024 for the July 2024 institute. There will be no refunds for courses canceled by registrants after 30 June 2024, for IGHR 2024. Fees paid are not transferable.

Refunds for canceled courses will be assessed a $75 administrative fee. Cancellation of a course on the same day that you register for it incurs no fee.

Cancellation Procedure

To cancel a course, click/tap Registration Cancellation. Please enter your information in the form displayed. The IGHR Registration Coordinator will review and process your request. If the cancellation is made by the stated deadline, a refund (minus the $75 administrative fee for a canceled course) will be sent to you by check or credited to your debit/credit card account by the Georgia Genealogical Society treasurer.

Course Transfer Fee

A $25 fee will be assessed for course transfer requests. Payment must be received before a course transfer is finalized. This fee does not apply when a seat becomes available through a course waitlist. To request a course transfer, please click/tap Transfer Request to display the form.  The IGHR Registration Coordinator will review and process your request; and a payment link will be sent to you if your request is approved.
