Jean Thomason IGHR Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Kathy Reichl winner of the Jean Thomason Scholarship for IGHR. She will be taking Course One: Methods and Sources with Pamela Boyer Sayre in July.
Kathy graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was a military wife for 27 years during which time she taught school, worked in government finance, raised two children, and volunteered with a number of community organizations including school and post libraries. When her husband retired from the military in 2006, Kathy took a part-time positon as Reference Assistant at the Columbia County Public Library in Evans, Georgia and began researching both her husband’s and her own family history. In addition to her reference staff duties, Kathy also teaches genealogy classes at two branch libraries and oversees a monthly genealogy club. Kathy hopes to share information she learns from the Methods and Sources course with her patrons in classes and club meetings.
