Prompt payment is expected. Cancellation of your online course reservation or failure to send payment postmarked by the third business day after your course reservation will result in cancellation of your classroom seat and an assessment of a $25 administrative fee owed to Georgia Genealogical Society, which covers the costs incurred in taking your reservation. Cancellation of a course on the same day that you register for it incurs no fee. Cancellation refund requests must be received in writing no later than May 5, 2018 for the June 2018 institute. There will be no refunds after May 5, 2018, for IGHR 2018. Any owed cancellation fees will be carried over to the next year.

University of Georgia Smoking and Tobacco Policy

Smoking and tobacco use is prohibited on the entire campus of the University of Georgia including the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.

This policy includes:

  • All buildings
  • Indoor and outdoor areas
  • Recreational areas
  • Athletic facilities
  • Lawns
  • University sidewalks
  • Parking lots
  • All vehicles – private or public

Prohibited products include;

  • Cigarettes, cigars and pipes
  • All forms of smokeless tobacco
  • Clove cigarettes
  • Any smoking device that uses tobacco such as hookahs or simulates the use of tobacco such as electronic cigarettes

Athens-Clarke County Smoking Ordinance

The Athens-Clarke County Smoking Ordinance prohibits smoking in all Athens-Clarke County government facilities, including parks; all enclosed public places within Athens-Clarke County; and all enclosed areas within places of employment. Visit the link provided to review exceptions.

A person who violates this ordinance shall be guilty of an offense and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00.
